Background

unsom-logoThe overall objective was to assess patterns of issues around former Al Shabaab fighters and their re-integration to community life and to assess the comfortability / levels of trust former Al Shabaab combatants have with key intermediaries in dis-armament plan, to test key messaging that have been created for encouraging defection from Al Shabaab, to assess levels of knowledge and trust for the Somali Federal Government’s amnesty plan.

Assignment

The purpose of the study was to develop and design a communications campaign to encourage low-level Al-Shabaab fighters to defect from the terrorist group.

Implementation

Conducted 4 Mini Focus Groups with in Baidoa Centre for Disengaged Combatants.
