unsom-logoSome of the objectives of the study were: to better understand citizens’ views and thoughts on how Al-Shabaab works in recruiting youth; to identify how specific groups can participate, what their challenges would be and what support they would need, and to identify appropriate messages for a campaign to stop the recruitment of youth into Al-Shabaab.

Assignment

The aim of this study was to identify how communities can support the prevention of recruitment to Al-Shabaab.

Implementation

Conducted qualitative data collection, mainly Key Informant and Focus group interviews in Mogadishu, Baidoa and Kismaayo.
